Shutter speed affects your image because you can have a object look still while its surroundings look like its moving. Aperture affects the depth of your image it is the size and distance. The relationship between these two is that if you reduce or increase one you have to do the same to the other.If you decrease the exposure on the aperture the shutter speed will change and the image will seem darker, but if you increase it it will be lighter so it does affect it if they are not the same. Aperture and shutter speed stick together like two peas in a pod ,and you have just read a day in the life of aperture and shutter speed settings. (:
